Jeanne Armstrong graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982 with a degree in English. She graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1993, where she was an Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. During law school, Jeanne worked as a law clerk for the Wisconsin Department of Justice in its consumer law department.
Jeanne has handles matters in state and federal court, administrative proceedings, and appellate courts. Her areas of practice include business litigation, insurance law, construction and real estate disputes, employment law, trademark and other intellectual property disputes, consumer law, and limited liability company member disputes.
Over the past seventeen years, Jeanne has represented individuals and businesses in matters ranging from disputes involving covenants not to compete, confidentiality agreements, and employment contracts, to litigation involving claims of fraud, misrepresentation, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, interference with contractual relations, and other business torts. She also has substantial experience representing individuals and business clients in consumer law matters, including disputes involving advertising and sales practices, debt collection, and credit reporting practices.
In addition to representing sellers and buyers in real estate disputes, Jeanne has represented real estate developers, owners, and construction companies in litigation arising out of construction projects, including matters involving claims of defective design, defective construction, and theft by contractor. Jeanne has also represented clients in environmental litigation relating to hazardous waste disposal, groundwater contamination, asbestos abatement, and insurance coverage for environmental claims.
Jeanne serves as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Wisconsin Law School, having taught Preparing a Case for Civil Trial and the Skills Intensive Training Program for the Lawyering Skills Course. Jeanne is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. She serves on the Executive Committee of the James E. Doyle Chapter of the American Inns of Court and is currently the President of the Madison Horizons Rotary Club. In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
